I saw yesterday on Arte TV channel a reporting about Bremerhaven's dance competition (latin ballroom) team, coached by Horst Beer.
At one moment, the camera focussed at one of the dancer's foot: each toe was wrapped in surgical tape, it looked like an egyptian mummy! And it was not even a competition night, just an everyday rehearsal....

The dancer could have been breaking in a pair of dance shoes the night before and have had some serious blisters. I have been there & have done that! Not a pretty sight, but at least you can endure the pain if you're bandaged up.
