My dress came today!

My dress came today via UPS and I'm so excited. I had this plan all ready for it and then when I opened the bag, I just decided to do something totally different.

Here's some pictures before (front and back):

All that is left t5o do is to add the Smoke Crystal Swarovskis around the geomotric shapes and seew everything down.... I have to figure out the lower hem... The dress is WAY long since I'm such a shorty.....

It's amazing what you can do when you have access to ballet recital costume catalogs, lol. A $65 dress, $10 worth of fabric and some Swarovskis later..... Hehehe - good thing I don't need it until October.... Maybe I can lose the belly before then so it doesn't look like a maternity dress....

I get into this quite a bit with my wife. We also try to do things that are "different." We just did two "very different" ones for her last competition three weekends ago. She got rave reviews from not only other competitors, but some women in the audience afterwards, and quite a few "good" remarks from the judges. One dress was bright neon lime green and cobalt blue with stones similar to what I suggest (see last paragraph) that you can do with yours. She also did a cha cha dress that was very bright fuschia with fringe and lots of stoning! We always add lots of stones.

We sent some pics to her designer/seamstress, and now she is using those pictures in her portfolio, and . . . she just sent us mail saying that several cutomers ordered identical dresses.

SO BE DIFFERENT AND DARING . . . and be brave when you wear them!

How about some SS20 or SS30 clear AB outlining or filling in the black on top, and for the bottom, some black stones going from a heavier pattern near the hem up to the bodice (waist area) area getting less sparse as you go up!

Vince you read my mind.... I'm using SS10 in Smoke Crystal for the outline of the patterns but I wanted a little something "extra" in addition to that. I might go around the SS10s with progressively larger stones in clear on the outside and Jet on the inside so that it has a "wave" or ripple effect...
