My New Locale

Well, I'm in my "new hometown" now having arrived here Saturday. Not yet sure how it's all going to work out, but it's certainly a nice place located in the mountains where it is much cooler this time of year.

There is but once dance studio here which teaches tap, jazz, hip hop and also ballroom and swing, but they do not hold dances; not enough people to make it worthwhile they inform me. There is a casino south of here that has a club and I am told that a number of dancers do go there, but I have yet to check this out. I may just have to go to Phoenix or even Flagstaff to dance, but not every week; too far for that. Plus gasoline is so expensive now.

However, this is great country for one who is into hiking, camping and fishing so I have opportunity for those activities. 8)

Good for you Spitfire. Sounds really nice, especially the cooler part. I'm not sure where that is because I'm new to AZ. How far away are you from Phoenix? Maybe I'll see you dancing sometime!

My housemate would love your place Spitfire as she loves the outdoors. I like it too, but am not into it as much. Cool weather and at least one place to learn to dance? Pretty good. Perhaps once you get to know some of teh other dancers you can have get-togethers or agetherinsg where you hang out, play music and dance? Or perhaps you guys can gather at places where danceable music is being played and dance? THere are quite a fwe opportunities to dance here, but there also are those other times when people will hear that there will be danceable music played somewhere and make arrangements with each other to gather and dance with each other. :cheers:

170 miles NE of Phoenix.

I'll be at the VFW dance this coming Sunday dancergal. At least I'm going to try and make it.

I'm guessing it to be about a three hour drive.

Arizona is beautiful! Did yuo move there on business? Is where you are near Sedona? I hear there are a lot of hiking trails and Indian ruins.

It's over a hundred miles east of Sedona. It wasn't for business reasons that I moved here; it's a long story.

I drove earlier to the club at the casino to take a look at it. The floor is nice though not very big.
