My WCS Transition

Well, I began learning WCS earlier this year not long after recovering from surgery and I have to admit that it's rather taken me over. I wanted to learn it to have an additional swing dance to go along with ECS, but what has happened is that I really don't want to do ECS, Lindy, Jitterbug or any other unless I can also do WCS and I want to do that more then any as far as the swing dances go; in fact, about the only other dance period that I want to do as much is Cha-Cha.

Pretty good for a guy who only a year ago did not want to touch WCS, right?

To all those who had made a point of the advantages of learning WCS and your enjoyment of it; yes, now I understand. This also goes for all the Lindy dancers who have said the same about their dance; while this is WCS I'm talking about, the general feeling is the same.

Hey Spitfire. You can cha cha to WCS, so I can see why you like both of those just as much. :)

A handy combination to have six weeks ago when a live band played at the studio; most of what they played was Cha-Cha and WCS type music. 8)

hey spitfire, when i first saw west coast it did not move me,at a hustle dance this women was boasting how it was soooooooooooo much better than hustle.at that time say 3 years ago most of the guys and girls were all looking the same in (our crowd)so to speak,i think i saw someone doing some real free-ing type moves and sexy stuff and i decided to take lessons :) in west coast. luvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv it and im so glad im in the westie crowd now also- i still dont think its better than (hustle) just different and really cool 8)

And I should say that this "transition" hasn't always been smooth; there have been sticking points. This though it's not as bad I thought it might be since WCS has the reputation of being a difficult dance. At this point it's not one of my better dances like ECS or Cha-Cha, but I sure do love it! :D
