Is that still the Harry Potter lookalike? He's awesome, but a stone-faced killa.


Wanted to check it out, but in the end, just not enough. Kind of burned out on sparkle for the moment.
 
Woof. Standard day was brutal. My first round of freestyles was the second worst round relative to my ability that I've ever danced. My scholarship rounds werent nearly so painful dancewise, but I still didnt make the finals in the B scholarship and finished second of two in the A scholarship. That said, the gent I'd casually assumed would be in the running to win the B scholarship didnt make the finals either. I guess that's proam silver fields for you. Srs business.

Still, that's two second places in scholarships for the comp. Even if one doesnt mean much, I'm pretty sure I need to not beat myself up over it.
 
How's the hotel? I went last year and wasn't particularly happy with the hotel. It seemed as if they were completely unprepared to have so many people staying there.

It's decent. They are renovating the rooms. Unfortunately we got a room that hasn't been renovated yet, but it's tolerable. The bed had no blanket and we had to ask for blankets to be brought up. The elevators have been odd at times. The food and service have been good.

Nope...closed 9 dance. Which is actually the whole reason I was dancing rhythm at all this time, so I'm pleased. It was a great opportunity to see what I'm up against in smooth as I progress, and for a change it was inspiring rather than disheartening, so I'm even okay with getting my butt kicked in the smooth scholarship. For now, anyway. :)

I didn't even notice the renovations - must have been in a renovated room. It was very comfy. The only issue I had was addressed very quickly, so I can say the service was great. The restaurants were good (and Marriott Rewards members get 25% off everything, which makes the prices very competitive for a change), though the service was a bit underwhelming. The only elevator issue I had was the day I left, after a new group checked in, and it was just crowded. Otherwise, they seemed very well prepared for the crowd, and very welcoming of the group. Plus, all of the staff seemed to know what was going on, who we were, and was both interested and helpful. One very nice thing was all of the self-parking available attached to or within very easy walking distance, which saved a very hefty valet bill, for a change.
 
I was there! Had a great time, but was working for David so I was very busy. It was great to meet David from DF. Sorry if I came across short or preoccupied, my pro partner and I were having a less than comfortable conversation when you approached us.
 
Perfectly all right. I could tell that I had come up at a bad moment, but I didn't know how much longer you were going to be around that day.
