The National Dance Council of America, Inc. and USA Dance have formed a joint discussion group of three members from each organization to consider the possibilities of forming one national "Peak body" for DanceSport in the USA.

How did we miss this? I just stumbled across this on the NDCA's web site today.

Wow, can't even imagine what kinda administrative nightmarwe that'd be at the time of joining, but would sure save tons of headaches in long run.

Heh, it still gives me a headache, esp as we then have our own FADS comps/rules/syllabus on top of those two.

Has USA Dance communicated this in any way since last August when NDCA announced it? Has it been on the USA Dance web site, in American Dancer or in any of USA Dance's email newsletters?

If not, one must certainly wonder why.

It's not really news, 3 1/2 months old now! But I do wonder what is going on with this....

does that mean we'll only pay one membership fee instead of two?

How about websites? one site (combined)? will they keep running both American Dancers Magazine & Dance Beat or we'll have only one?

Yes, but it'll be twice as muc as there will be twice as many things for them to pay for. And shhhh, you're not supposed to point out comps that worked with both groups. ;)
