Need more info about "Stephanie" Dance shoes

I've heard from a girl in my dance class that "Stephanie" makes a lot of imitation dance shoes from other brands (ie. Supadance). Is it true? Well even if they successfully copy the style, are they able to copy the quality, comfort and the durability of the original shoes? Is it an US brand or is it a Chinese brand? Where are the shoes manufactured? Are the listed sizes US sizes or UK sizes? Thank you.

Stephanie is a US brand, designed in the UK, and manufactured in Taiwan. I have two pairs.

What I like about them is that they are wider across the ball of the foot than other brands I've tried, which is really helpful to me. Also, the ladies Standard shoes are very soft, which means there is basically no "break in" time.

Their price is defintely lower than the real UK brands, and the truth is I think that the quality is lower. It's a price/performance trade-off, as always.

If I needed a new pair of shoes tonight for a competition this weekend, I'd get the Stephanie because of the price, the fit, and the their softness. But for long-wear for practice, I just don't think the durability is there -- but that's the way things go for shoes that are soft enough right out of the box.

I have a pair of Stephanie shoes, and I absolutely love them for social dancing. As Laura said, they are soft right out of the box--the footbed is very comfortable and the inside seems very "finished," in that there are no places that have given me any irritation after long wear. I choose them if we are going to a long dance evening, because my feet are as comfortable at the end of the night as the beginning, and my legs don't get as fatigued.

Now, DH and I don't compete yet, but I doubt I would have these shoes as my first choice for competition. Other shoes in my collection (higher priced, etc.) allow me to feel the floor better, and I imagine I would want that when every millimeter counts. However, I refer to those shoes as my "90-minute shoes," because they feel great and I can feel the floor really well for about an hour and a half, then my feet are tired and I want to switch shoes or sit one out. Tradeoffs, as always.
