Nervous during competitions/showcases? Where do you get your support?

heh.

i agree with angelo & josh... experience & repetition help, and a "professional" outlook ("i'm here to get a job done").

doing deep-into-the-core crunches (a la pilates or callanetics) helps when the butterflies hit. do them til your gut feels exhausted. it's very calming afterward.
 
I get way too self conscious when I know I'm being watched. Up to now it's been friends and family and now if and when I compete more people than that will be watching me. May be nerve racking, if I pay attention to it.
 
Heck, I *want* the judges to look at me. Um.... as long as they're not looking when I screw up.
