Nevada Star Ball 2008

I faxed our hotel request last Friday. I still need to send in the registration and buy tickets. I think this is the fifth year my kids have competed here. Great venue and lots of fun.

I'm here! Got here around 11:15pm on Friday night...they were out of non-smoking rooms which kind of sucked. Anyway, fascination would love this place because there is a Martini bar in my room. That's right -- vodka, vermouth, olives, etc. And not those tiny airplane bottles, but 375ml bottles, Martini glasses, and a cocktail shaker. (It's not free but it is...convenient...!)

I flew in with Glenn Weiss and Barbara Gore, who told me all kinds of great things about what they're doing with their comp, City Lights Ball. I'll have to start another thread about that....

Anyway, good luck to everyone dancing!

All I heard on our students is "they did well". haven't gotten any specific results on them, or in general.

I will say that this was a great comp in terms of organization and efficiency. Everything ran on time for our events. Yolanda was great on deck. She had a lot to deal with in addition to organizing the large number of children in the competition.

We danced Pre Champ & Champ standard. We were surprised when we looked at the program and discovered that there were a large number of BYU couples in attendance and that we would have to dance a qualifying round prior to the quarter final round for pre champ. So we danced a total of 6 rounds including champ. What a work out...
