New: Dance Competion Guide

We have a new section of our site for showing Competitions and Events, and you are invited to help us add to our list. Please avoid listing events that are being held at a dance studio, such as mini-matches or workshops. The priority is to add events that are recognized nationally or internationally.

If everyone that reads this thread could add 1-2 events each, we could quickly have one of the best resources on the net!

To view the listing go to:
http://www.dance-forums.com/competitions/

To add new competition, go to:
http://www.dance-forums.com/competitions/submit.php
(Login with your Dance Forums username and password)

After adding a competion, there is one more step!
Go to http://www.dance-forums.com/competitions/schedule.php and enter the date range for the event. If we have a thread going on this event, you can also enter the address of the thread there.

Once we have some participation in getting events listed, I will be adding more features, and also syndicating the information, allowing other sites to list the events using an RSS feed. For example, we will have a "Salsa" feed.

Once, please take a moment, and try to enter one event. A good place to start finding events would be www.accessdance.com, thought there are lots of other sources.

I hope you like it and thanks for your support and participation on Dance Forums!

I have been trying to submit a few international events (the IDSF Grand Slam and the WD&DSC World Series). The submission form does not have a field for the dates of a competition, and my submissions are not showing.

And Wow! Thanks for all of the submissions.
There may be a few little bugs, but bear in mind I can help fix them if there is something not working right, and I will probably be adding more features still.

Thanks,
David

A few suggestions:
1- Netherlands does not appear on the list of countries. Did Luxembourg annex it while no one was looking? :-) (Luxembourg isn't on the list either, btw)
2- Since "State" and "Country" are both required fields, it's difficult to list events in foreign countries. I was hoping to make the calendar useful for major international events, as well as US NDCA and USA Dance events. But this is a minor issue. Editing can probably take care of these entries.

This is a great effort, btw, so thanks a lot, David. Truly appreciated.
Oh - and a few of my entries also have the same mistake as Laura's, before I realized I should take out the http:// part of the url.

Thanks for your notes. This helps a lot. I want it to me easy to use for everyone. We'll get these items addressed shortly.
