Ohio Star Ball 07: whos going & DF social?

I hope its not too early to ask who is going? I am not entirely sure yet but would like to compete in both Amateur and Pro/Am. The former depends on MDP and the latter on cash (how many partners pro is taking).

Also, a while back I wondered if we could have a DF :together: there? If there is interest, we could either organize a dinner out or maybe even a room with drinks & food?? Wouldn't it be neat to meet each other in person?

Along those lines, I don't suppose there are any DFers who live in or near Columbus?

Will prolly be there Saturday, since the schedule is different than last year (for us) and partner wants to get to dance in Battelle Hall (BTDT, so not a big deal for me, though).

I may be attending, a friend of mine has been asked to compete... a major coup for her... so I may swing out to support her. Besides it's OSB... I've wanted to go since before I started dancing myself. :)
 
I have a hotel room already so chances are we're going:) Have to get plane tickets soon though...
 
Does Jet Blue fly out of a nearby airport, Ithink? They always have great rates from Boston to Columbus. It's actually about the same price R/T than it is one way to NYC from here.

and fyi...farecast.com is a great site for forecasting fares.
 
I will be there, with bells on!!!! My first OSB... I am dancing on Wednesday in the World pro/am rhythm... Can't wait. I would love to meet more DF's.

No, Jetblue from DC is very expensive right now, around $300. Southwest flights are running about $160 from DC to Columbus now. Not bad I guess...
 
Maybe no one read that far on my first post - but no replies about a possible DF social:confused: Or is there just no interest.....:(
 
I think that is the event added for the tv airing of the competition -- where the top couples from each of the four styles go head to head (showdance routines).

Edit: we should get them to add a df challenge. I think we've earned the place on the floor ;)

Is it? I've noticed that on the schedule they have bronze and silver "best of the best" on Wednesday.
 
I'll be there Fri-Sun nights, I dance Sat and Sunday... My firs OSB as well... exciting...

oh, and I'm up for the social, I'd like to meet some DF'ers... :D
