Who's planning on going?

Has anyone found really good hotel deals? What hotels are recommended as walking distance from the venue? I nkow of the Regency, which appears to be booked up already, and the Hampton Inn. Any others people have stayed in?

We might be going as well...

I think the Embassy Suites is close, as well as the Renaissance. If you get a hotel in downtown Columbus, most of them will be either a 5-10 minute walk from the venue or a short cabride away...

Actually, just checked the schedule. Since Am event is on Friday, I don't think I can go.. I have 1 vacation day left and would have to take thursday and friday off.... don't think we will be there :(

I have reserved for all five days at eithre the marriot or residence inn...whichever is closest...cant remember...

Here is a list of hotels for downtown Columbus. The Hyatt Regency, The Lots, the Crown Plaza, the Drury Inn Suites, and the Red Roof Inn are all fairly close together. There's a bridge from the Drury Inn Suites to the Hyatt, and there's another from the Crown Plaza to the Hyatt. The Hampton Inn and the Courtyard by Mariott are all within walking distance, just a few short blocks away from the Hyatt. The remaining hotels I've listed in approximate order from distance from the Hyatt Regency, and they're more than a few blocks away form the Hyatt.

There are plenty of other hotels in and around Columbus, particularily at the airport. Then, just take a cab ride downtown.

Hotels around the Convention Center have been fully booked for the OSB for about two months now. I made my reservation way back in early Aug. (may be even July). The Red Roof Inn was full. The Drury Inn was full. I found a room at Crowne Plaza. I just checked with them to see if I can extend one day before or after. They are full and can't accommodate that.
If you stay at a hotel farther away, keep in mind how you will get to the ballroom if you are dancing (will you have your makeup and costume on at the hotel or at the ballroom), and plan accordingly.

I am guessing tickets to the evening sessions will be sold out (probably way before the event itself starts), so get them early on. Since tv will be there, and some special "show dances" have been added to the schedule just for the sake of the tv production, these tickets will be in hot demand.
By special show dances I mean that the winners in the pro events will be doing an extra show dance for a final top pro selection. It's twice the bang for your buck.

See you there (yeah, I'm going, and dancing, God help me.)
