One of Pablo and Noelia's last performances together :(

I joined several workshops, so I want to add that they are wonderful teachers, too. My concern from 2011: Noelia is a Urquiza-bird. Estilo Urquiza is a boy´s-style, that means that the leader is doing all the adornos and the girl has to fill in, what is left over. Pablo, her former dance partner had all eyes on him (sorry, my english is lousy, is it put right?). Carlitos on the other hand was a milonguero guy, dancing intimately, devotely. Most of the times he was upstaged by Noelia. But, hats off, he developed into a salón and escenario guy, but in the end other leaders can do it much better.
Watch, what I found is the best of Carlitos! Then watch Pablo and Noelia, this is one of my all time favorites in tango, ever. These couples are worlds apart.

Interesting. Well, I hope Carlitos sticks to his milonguero roots and gives up the escenario stuff, which he is not will suited for. Maybe that's the conflict between him and Noelia? Pablo and Noelia were fun for a while, but Pablo kept moving more and more into nuevo and she, obviously, wanted something different. But in her dancing with Carlitos, she's the peacock, doing all the adornos and fancy moves; sometimes there's a bit of a disconnect between them, but I like them all the same. Not sure what you mean by "Urquiza" being a boy's style though; for that matter, it's not a very accurate term.

I picked up these terms in the salsa scene: it seems to be quite common to refer to cuban salsa as a men´s style and NY mambo as a girl´s style. It reflects which part ususally is acting out to the full. All the same with villa urquiza style tango, this is where the leader is the peacock.

Never heard it said that way in salsa scene. It is true. In Cuban style salsa the lead is doing all the stuff and follower is like an accessory. The LA and NY style gives follower a lot more freedom to express herself. It is more equal as the lead to has to express himself in Mambo. The two styles don't mix. Except for some in Europe, you are either a Cuban style dancer or NY/LA/PR style dancer.

Here some new performances! To me Carlitos has changed some

This is a fb link but it is open so I suppose it is visible for all to watch on FACEBOOK
by clicking on FaceBook in the *picture*

I could find only a milonga with the same style on Youtube
