Never heard this in my almost 40 (!) years of doing the dance.it's actually a sort of rule in WCS that the lead is supposed to wait for the follow to anchor. (Well, if anything can be said to be a rule in WCS.) To some extent, the lead is supposed to stand there like a mope if she doesn't anchor.
You the last beat of a pattern to "anchor," after which the CPB begins moving into the next step as a default.
But then, the last time I had lessons was when I took two different intensives with Skippy Blair. That was 2010 & 2011.
Is this what people are being taught now? And by whom?
