People who stare!

How do you cope with people who can't stop looking when you're either on your own or with a group of people in a social situation? I'm not talking a quick glance or just a random look but people who can't stop even though you've spotted them doing it... :doh:

I often wonder if I've either forgot to remove my shaving cut toilet roll paper from my head or if my ears have turned into Christmas Turkey wings
Had this a LOT when we went holiday - eating a meal in a restaurant and people gawping! I almost offered some of my steak at one point.

My sister thinks the solution is to look them in the face and go 'rarrrrr' and pull a funny face...

Thoughts? How do you deal with this (if ever)? - I'm going back to the dementia thread now... :lol:
 
Could be that they are lost in thought and staring, and you happen to be in their line of vision. If sure that they are staring at you, tho - I like the blowing a kiss or wink options.
 
Depends on the situation... and my mood... most of the time I pretend it's not happening... or something like that would totally distract me from whatever it is I'm doing... some of the time I'll smile and wave...just to let the starer know they've been noticed (or in the case of a day dreamer lost in thought...to wake them up)

If I'm in a really funky playful mood I'll make a face or even a sound effect, but that's pretty rare. :p

I used to do that all the time -- let my mind wander and not realize that while I was "staring off into space" that I was actually looking in someone's direction. Had that someone winked, smiled, or blew me a kiss, I probably would have been too unaware of my surroundings to notice. Fortunately, a friend eventually helped me realize I was doing this. I learned to turn my gaze out a window or otherwise away from anyone before letting my mind wander.
 
Oh. Is this strange? I find people are always staring at me and figure they are just living boring lives ;)

FD: I would start with taking off white rabbit suit-with micky mouse ears. See if that works.

Yes, you are right. I tend to ignore it anyway... :D

Looks like I've been busted with regards to the bunny suit :o
