Perhaps this could have waited until Halloween, but...

This is totally creepy! And it is almost Halloween. So I guess it's time for spooky urban legends. Yuck! *shiver*

That is a very common tale here in the southwest.

And to think I posted this back in March. I was thinking of making a Halloween scary tales thread for any of us that have some, but think I'll just use this one.

Here's one about an experience a friend of mine had:

Unless you've lived here in Tucson for a very long time and are old enough to remember the name Charles Schmidt probably won't ring a bell, but he is probably the most infamous murderer here. Back in the 1960's he murdered three young girls; two of whom were sisters.

To get to the point he buried one of his victims out in an area of vacant land which has since been developed (the remains were later recovered and buried in the family plot of a local cemetary). A friend of mine once related how he and some other friends of his back in the 70's were partying out in this area and they heard what sounded like a woman laughing, but were unable to locate where this sound was coming from; it seemed to elude them. On another occasion their car would not start and someone said "Eileen, please let us go" (Eileen was the name of the victim buried in this area) and sure enough the car started. They found this all to be very creepy.

"and he had spun the girl all the way to hell."
-From story "Dance With the Devil"
Devil, you say. I think I have danced with him before.
Boy, I had a good laugh over that one. "Spun all the way to Hell..." Hah, hah, hah. Whew, just too much, fellas.
