My husband took a lot of photos Saturday at the Philly Festival that I thought members of this forum might enjoy!

Here's a link (I'm assuming this is okay because it is not a commercial site):

A brief guide to what's what:
06161ff--PreChamp Latin
06286ff--Pro Rhythm
06391ff--Show
06407ff--Quarterfinal Amateur Open Latin
06556ff--Semifinal Pro Latin
06603ff--Semifinal Amateur Open Latin
06678ff--Final Pro Latin
06777ff--Final Amateur Open Latin

If you have questions about who specific people are, I can supply further information.

I hope you enjoy these photos. I think there are some great ones!

Mr. Carpenter's photos are stunning. There are some more on Gary Stephen's site and also some tken by VBeiswenger on the competition's site.

Is this step in the syllabus? More precisely, does the syllabus say that the left hand of the leader has to be placed there?

Wow! Nice photos!

That woman wearing the light brown Latin/Rhythm outfit with the black highlights, what a cool costume!

I think it does.

Wow! Sorry to be the downer on this thread but I was actually really disappointed in those pictures, not the pictures themselves, just how immodest and sexually explicit the dresses and pictured moves were. It makes me so grateful that I am not exposed to that where I live. In our area competitions we have very strict costume guidlines that still allow for style but keep you covered so the viewer, dancer and judge is able to focus on the dancing, not all of the exposed skin. I think I saw one dress that MAYBE I would consider wearing, the rest to me looked a lot like pornography. I have been dancing a long time, but the longer I am away from competing the more my eyes are opened to how immodest it can be. I love to dance, I don't however, like to exploit my figure to try to make it to the next round and refuse to do so.

I would have to STRONGLY disagree with that statement. Latin is meant to be sexy. Standard and smooth are have the big gowns that cover up everything. Like rumba, the dance of love, where the couple has "sex" on the dance floor. I don't know what level of dancing you are at but its obviously not Open Latin.
