our instructor told us to search all about SOCIAL FOXTROT and ROCK AND ROLL JIVE. i've searched something but i'm not sure... since our instructor told us that those topics especially SOCIAL FOXTROT are very hard to find on the net.

thanks again. :D

Maybe by searching Slow fox instead of Foxtrot you can find something.

Here's a page about Foxtrot. But it's all in french, you'll have to Babelfish it.

Isn't Slow Fox considered International style? I've never heard of American style Foxtrot called Slow Fox but have hear Int'l style referred to that way.

I think a search for American Foxtrot would have better search results. Or search for ballroom dance history or foxtrot history/origins.

And I think that while Rock and Roll and Jive share some of the same figures they are different dances. To refer to the dance as Rock and Roll Jive would be incorrect. IMO.

Are you looking for videos or written info? I just did a GOOGLE websearch and came up with several sites for info on Foxtrot history. I entered "Social Foxtrot" and came up with a Wikipedia article and a link to a YouTube video.

I would also agree with Merrylegs that Rock and Roll and Jive are two distinct dance styles.

A lot of the younger dancers over here do something that is apprently Double-Time Jive, but that is called Rock and Roll in the competition category.

i'm looking for written info.

yes there are things about social foxtrot but is social foxtrot the same as american foxtrot? and... about rock and roll jive, i don't really know
what is correct about rock and roll jive, our instructor just told us to search about it... so i'm really innocent about that. :( thanks though. :D

thanks! :) uhm... i tried searching rock and roll jive or rock n roll jive...
but all i can find are dvds and dance studios... :(
