I was pretty bummed last friday when I had to go to my grandparents anniversary party, they are all into polka and stuff(we are 100% German). Which i have no problem with, i mean dancing keeps you fit and its awesome when old people dance and party alot no matter how they do it.
So I was sitting at one of the tables around the ballroom, extremly bored and sipping flavorless punch when I got tired of sitting and decided to get on the dance floor and have some fun. So I get out there stepped into that white powder, parents and grand parents dancing so I danced by myself, I dont know any polka dances so I did the moonwalk, some glides I made up and some I borrowed from fellow dancers, I also did my version of the electric slide where I mix it with moonwalking, sidewalking(just learned) and other glides.
Pretty soon there was a circle of old people around me watching and totally digging the show I was putting on. Next the band stopped and recognized some of my michael jackson, and old Jackson 5 moves. The drummer got off the stage, came up to me and said that he and his fellow band mates knew a polka rendition of "Billie Jean" and asked if i could dance to it. So they played it and I did the whole Billie Jean routine! I even ended up teaching some of my dances the some of the old people!
I cant believe what a good time I had, after the party at my grand parents house my grandma said that she had the most fun of her life at the party and watching me dance, which really made me feel good.
