Please let me live vicariously! What's everyone else doing? Are there dance parties? Staying out to the wee hours?

I could be out dancing that night, but I have decided to stay home with my family, invite some friends and their kids over for games and food and host a very non-dancing party. Ultimately, I decided this would be better than being out getting kissed on the cheek by people I'm not related to. LOL I didn't really want to be out on the roads that night anyway. This is Asia, think lots of fireworks and guns going off. Call me paranoid, but I already had a firecracker go off *under* my car while I was driving 2 days before Christmas. Scared the *&^% out of me, for a few moments I thought I had danced my last dance.

I'm consoling my dance-deprived self with the knowlege that on Weds we are attending another party where there will be dancing and I'm fairly certain it will be a good dance night. :D

Points to sig file...

If it weren't for that, I'd probably be back in NC where there are a variety of choices for dancing... salsa, swing, ballroom, whatever. It's actually amazingly busy... much busier than I remember for the last few years when I spent NYE... alone (or at a concert).

I shall go to a party, where there is definitely going to be Salsa dancing (not entirely, but probably most of it, as the people attending the party are hard-core salseros).

Of course, eating and drinks will also be part of the program :).

I am sure it will be very nice... :). Looking forward to attending it... :)

Still, we are not very sure about the location... :)

Well, the big salsa party (from what I hear) is going to be New Year's Day.

For New Year's Eve, I'm likely to be out, whooping it up but not in the salsa scene.

Happy New Year everyone!

Actually I still need to find a place having ballroom in NJ/Philly area or VA/DC area for Friday or Saturday.

Anyone have ideas?

For NYE & ballroom for the VA area, I got the following in my email:

"For New Years Eve we recommend Ron Bennett's Yuletide Ball - expensive but well worth it for dinner, dancing and a professional show - Plus a big enough dance floor, at a hotel with overnight packages, etc. Check out www.yuletideball.com.

Also, Colvin Run has a New Years Eve party, which is on Colvin run Dr just past Baron Cameron Ave off Rt. 7. and so does the Dance Factory in Arlington at www.dancefactory.com so check theses out."

No dancing for me. I have a ton of friends here, but they're all from my pre-dancing life. :( So I have a non dancing party on the 31st and one on the 1st. Oh yeah, and my twin is coming to visit for the weekend. 8) I'd better line up some dance for next week.

For the ninth straight year to our studio's NYE bash; the only one in town that does so. Should be great; always has been. Let the good times roll! :D 8)

I can at least say I got some dancing in over my holiday vacation. Granted, I am glad it was just a (relatively) minor injury and not something more life threatening (noting Archie Hazelwood), but yes... it's a real bummer.

i fly out 9 am friday morning to las vegas for the new year. leaving 31st and coming home the 3rd. doubt i'll be doing any ballroom but i know i'll be in the clubs for friday adn saturday night. gambling sun dancing and drinks what more could a person ask for.
