Hi everyone! Longtime lurker here.
Can anyone recommend any stores in NYC or NJ that sell practice dresses? I work in midtown NYC in the Fashion District, but live in central NJ, so either is okay. Worldtone in NYC doesn't really have anything and I see Glamour and Glow closed a few years ago. I plan on trying Shall We Dance in Nutley, NJ on Saturday because even though their online selection doesn't thrill me, I am hoping they have a greater inventory on site.
Long story short, I am struggling to find a dress for an American rumba showcase routine and my studio owner suggested I look at practice dresses that we can rhinestone to high heaven, if necessary. I do intend to compete the routine as a solo when I start competing in pro/am in February or March, so we're being a bit more picky than we were for my first showcase this past spring, which was AT.
I have found practice dresses that I like online, but even with US-based sellers, turnaround time is pretty slow and I know there is going to be a lot of mailing back returns. Any guidance and recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
