Practice without shoes

Well, I am at home a large part of the day, and there's a lot of times I just can't help myself. Does that count? Haha

The main concern I would have is just spinning on the ball of your foot and having too much friction. Make sure that you are not damaging your feet with a lot of spins without the write surface or equipment.

..have carpet and linoleum flooring. Do people practice solo with socks only..
I assume you are a dance teacher and want to offer a class or so. I find carpet a bit difficult to keep it odor-free when students practice hard on socks for some hours. Linoleum on the other hand often feels cold. It also depends on the style you teach. Partner dancings is aimed at moving on a wooden parquet floor with leather soles. So the feel of linoleum or carpet would be quite misleading for inexperienced students, not to speak of stressing the joints. Followers in those partner dances most guys here on DF are practicing, wear heals. When dancing on socks the girls have to dance on the ball and cannot drop wheight. You have to take it into account when teaching technique. So in the end you should deliver much more informations about your project, Delivers1234!
