Prandi Sound and Rimini Open CD's

There are many CD's coming out under these labels. I wonder if anyone has a general input about how nice they are (Latin or Standard)?
I am familiar with most ballroom labels out there (Casa Musica, WRD, Latin Jam, Chrisanne, Dancelife, etc) It's just that there are so many CDs coming out in these Italian labels (Bassano, Rimini, etc.), and I don't have time to "screen" them (i.e. go to DanceVision or a similar site and listen to segments). Besides, I also find that music on the web sounds a bit "tinny", and doesn't give the real effect of what the tracks really sound like on good speakers.
Just wondering if anyone has any feedback on them?

Prandi Sounds used to have very good CDs. Lately I haven't found any that's inspiring. Anything they produced prior to 2004 are all quite decent.

I have been using Prandi and Rimini music for quite a while. Just some comments. First they sometimes make an instrumental and vocal rendition of the song, sometimes its good but most time it just a waste. Also, the quality is okay for loud speakers and large room sound but some of the tracks aren't as good in close quarters. Lots of duplicate tracks in there system so sometimes you'll find a track in several of their CDs. Latin music are not the hard heavy driving sound you;ld find in music like the Latin Jams. The music for waltz are usually softer using piano and violins, sometimes its hard to pick out the beat but some of them are really nice.

A lot of the songs are utter crap. Most of the Latin is, for sure. Occasionally there's a decent Ballroom instrumental that's good, but most of the vocal songs are junk. As swan says, the early discs are decent, the more recent ones are lame.

Thanks, Joe and everybody. That was my reaction when I listened to one CD. I wondered if it was a fluke. I guess I thought that, if they are producing so many CDs, then someone is buying, which means they must be good.
Must revise my logic and figure out the flaw :-)

Or perhaps they keep putting them out in hopes that they'll finally hit a home run instead of striking out. ;)

Just got the Latest Ultimate Latin 7 from WRD in London. Don't bother. They are really digging deep. The music is so old fashion. Edmundo Ros, right out of the 60's. "Half a Minute" Samba, 20 years old and sounds like it. Catarina Valente use to sing on Ed Sullivan in the 50's. This is a real throw away.

The early Prandi CDs were quite good, but I am also really disappointed with the newer offerings. If you get three good tracks from one disc, you're doing well.

A similar trend occurred with the Dance House series and the Premium Standard series from Casa Musica. The first few CDs were good, and then downhill from there. These days I'm having to spend more and more time mining Rhapsody and iTunes for useful music.
