pre-competition disorder

I'm doing the saline rinse. Yuck. Luckily the family is taking pity and bringing me tea at all hours. I've started antibiotics so hopefully there will be an end to this. Thank you for your sympathy.

uhhhh, DH has all y'alll beat in the sinus issue department. That said, it was strongly suggested to him by his specialist, to use
Pressurized Saline Spray and to stop the rinse via the neti pot method. So he was switched to NeilMed Nasal Mist, saline nasal spray, Extra Strength (drug free -and air pressured) which gets to places a rinse does not. He's been sinus issue-free for almost 7 months now.

pre-comp jitters has not set in, mainly due to the INSANE OVERWHELMING STRESS of this awful stupid job over the last couple weeks. and got in extra lessons, since my go-to for stress is lots of lessons, lol. i do not recommend job stress as a remedy for jitters, but i am liking the results in my dancing in the past week, HA!

I'll smack you tonight to get rid of your bolero jitters :P

I was gonna post about how I'm panicking or something, then I realized I'm not. I'm dancing with the same lead I danced with last semester. Again without any prep, except we're adding bronze AND silver American. He doesn't really know any silver. I would panic, but then I realized whatevs, it doesn't really matter, it means I can dance, which I wouldn't get to otherwise. He had a schedule conflict he just realized yesterday, so no Latin. It's the one I would like to do least without practice so that works. Means I don't have to worry about the dress. Which I don't know if it fits or not. Will find out tonight. Nothing like having everything be last minute. I feel way too calm.... Like, all these things I SHOULD be worrying about but just don't have the energy to.

Yep! Thanks for remembering and asking! I actually competed twice last fall, early November and then at the collegiate part of OSB. The first comp, I started dancing a week and a half before it, danced with someone I met on Friday, then danced the entire day, bronze smooth, and bronze and silver standard, rhythm, and Latin. It was not something I would advise others to do. My blisters had blisters, I wore the callouses off the bottom of my feet, and walking was a challenge the next day. I'm in much better shape now and this comp is spread out over two days, which is nice. I am dancing with the same guy I danced with at the first comp. So now I can say we've danced together... but yeah, no practicing. No Latin because he has a conflict, he's local to the comp. Gonna try bronze and silver American (he's an international dancer but knows some American so it'll be interesting) and then two levels of bronze standard.

Tried the dress on last night, it fits! Gonna need Spanx or it bunches funny in one spot.

I am back at the workout program I did 2 summers ago (started 7 weeks ago) and my shoulder is cruising along. Still needs stamina but the pain is nowhere near what I used to have. I can actually dance. There are some things in gold where I know I'm doing it wrong because my shoulder tells me so. If I turn too far, my body tells me!

Also feel like I'm running around like a chicken with its head cut off trying to make sure everything is arranged for the team to get to the comp tomorrow.

I could check the NDCA calendar, but I'm lazy. Arnold as in the over 50 thing in Columbus?
