I think (or would like to hope!) that partner dancing as a whole will increase in popularity.
As salsa is "my thing":
- yes, I will say that I think salsa will continue to grow in popularity but I also think that 2005 may be the last year of the "mega" congresses.
- LA might grow even more in 2006 but the rest will have to look at ways of getting dancers through the doors which won't be easy with more and more events being organised.
The Annual Salsa Congresses listing has about 96 events for 2005 already  some of which admittedly are still awaiting dates to be set, there may be others that do not take place due to business breakups (or other reasons) and there are others that may be in the organising stages which we have not discovered as yet, to add to the listing. But it seems as if every major town is trying to organise something and we may see "deliberately" smaller events.
- Bachata
WILL increase  and a pure all salsa night will become a rarity.
- I would love to say that I think merengue will also increase in popularity this year also but the salsa dancers I know who are willing to dance something other than salsa seem to prefer bachata over merengue :?
- there will be no further discussion of On1 or On2. Everyone will be dancing On3
