Promenade Pivot in Bronze American Foxtrot

I've been thinking about this step a little lately. I think it is my favorite step that uses the SSQQ rhythm. I'm curious how you do the footwork. DO you do a true pivot on step 3?
(man THT, Lady HTH)
Or do you do more of a spin on the ball of the foot?
(almost exclusively used on every other Amer. Bronze Foxtrot step)

To the best of my knowledge, an ordinary pivoting action is always on the ball of the foot. The heel is officially on the ground, but the weight is forward, except perhaps for a brief rock into the heel right before pushing out into the next step - see the ISTD book notes for the natural spin turn in waltz and the natural pivot turn in quickstep. This contrasts with the way the weight moves further back in the foot for a heel pull, or for the explicit heel pivot of quickstep listed amongst the optional figures at the back of the book.
