Recommended sites for Salsa partner search?

Hello, I'm new to salsa. I'm taking couple of lessons a week, got a few instructional dvds recently following the advice of those who responded to my previous post - very helpful.

The other recommendation was to get a practice partner and just practice. This is where I need your feedback please - do you know of any good websites (or other ways) where I could look for a practice partner (follow) who would be able to help out a beginner?

I'm located in the Los Angeles/Orange County area in CA.

In one of my classes, there are only two ladies who come regularly, but they come with their boyfriend/husband - I think you'd probably agree that its not a good idea to approach them to be my practice partner.

In the other class there are a lot of women, but we have had only one lesson so far. I'll try and ask in the next class. The thing is, even a beginner(follow) would probably want to practice with a good lead - and I don't think I'm there yet.

My thought was that, if its from a website ad, both of us (myself and the respondent) would know exactly what to expect right off the bat - hence my previous post.

Are there any salsa clubs near you? Why not just go along to some and ask many different girls to dance - you're bound to run in to someone at your level sooner or later (and have lots of fun in the process!)

Anyway it's perhaps not a great idea to do lots of practice with a single partner, esp. at beginner/improver level, since you only *really* know how to lead a move when you can lead *any* follower through it, not just your regular partner.

To practice things which you sort of understand -- I think the best way is just to go out dancing. (As salseiro suggested).

Here in Phoenix, they have a class + practice session from 6-9pm which is very welcoming. A good place for a beginner to get some practice.

To practice things which you really aren't very comfortable with you do need a partner of some sort: a friend you've dragged into the class, someone you've got there as a date, a classmate who would be willing to practice after the class, etc.

To address your specific question: I don't know of any websites. However, I would suggest that you also include ballroom partner searches, as often the people on these websites are interested in other dances as well.
