Is there anything you haven't done in a while, which you used to do a lot, restarted and thought what took you so long to restart?
This weekend, I rekindled my affair with swimming.
I used to swim a lot as a child, to a high standard. Then I left home, my life and surrounds all changed (naturally), the hair on my legs was growing quicker and quicker   etc etc. The end result was I hadn't swam in zillion of years! Then this weekend, I thought: enough's enough! There is a swimming pool about 5 mins walk away from me and there was no valid reason why I shouldn't be using it other than "lack of time". Went to the pool twice this weekend   and am so glad that I did!
The first time, yesterday was a bit of shock for a number of reasons. I remembered how to swim  but didn't quite have the rhythm/breathing technique. Also, I could only do a lap at a time and as for diving in  okay, first time wasn't exactly a bellyflop but I did catch my chest, which stung  ) rather than entering the water hands, arms, head, shouders etc. But, I persisted. Today, was back again and it was so much better! I still ache from yesterday BUT my technique was almost there, I was able to hold my breathe much longer, swimming underwater and each time, getting a foot or two closer to completing a length of the pool underwater (the pool is a decent size but not huge/Olympic size, thank goodness  )
