Reverse Slip Pivot

My partner and I are tired about doing reverse slip pivot. Personally I do well, he too. But in connection we can not turn, even only 1/4 ( we need to turn 1/2).
So, what is the main force to make the turn goes, dance gods?

I've found that thinking of the pivot as a release from the high fall away step really helps... Sort of like screwing your foot into the floor

Maybe change up the pre-dance prayer and/or sacrifice? I find a ceremonial rain dance and/or plenty of sacrificial virgins seems to work well for me, but burning smelly stuff is frowned upon. (Sorry, couldn't resist :p )

Perhaps re-examine who is inside and who is outside of the turn, and the positions/alignments + trajectories of the feet, body and body weight have to take when moving into the slip pivot. Discuss it in detail with the partner - I have, on many occasions, realized that I was dancing something totally different from my partner because we were thinking (and therefore doing) different things, within the exact same figure. Doesn't do the "harmony of movement" any favours when that happens.

Assume you're referring to fallaway reverse and slip pivot. Pivot step for leader is small, rotating his foot inwards as he steps so that it's almost in the final alignment before the step is taken. Follower must step back back back and must keep her head left over the leader's right arm, in fallaway reverse.

Many people think of this figure as being linear. Starting to rotate the figure much earlier and moving toward diag center can help.

For the man, often on the third step the heel is dropped too early. Also, it can help to think of turning the foot of the second step almost against line of dance (often it is not turned enough). Also, the man can end up changing the frame too much, such as the right elbow veering behind his back or left left elbow veering in.

For the lady, continuing to move toward diag center well into the third step can help her stay on the outside of the turn and help the rotation. Also on her third step, turning the toe almost to line of dance can help make the pivot easier. The lady too can lose her frame if she starts to turn too early on the third step.
