Rumba song?

hi emily13, if I remember right - I counted the measures per minute to that song and it was too slow for an international rumba.

The song is 30mpm. International Rumba should be 25-27mpm.

Is it for practise or a showcase? For practise I'd look for something that falls within the strict tempo, if not slower. For a showcase, if it's a bit off, but still sounds/feels like Rumba, and you're comfortable with it, go for it!

I actually don't like it for either int or am rumba, at least not for competition. I think the rhythmic structure is wrong. Could be a showcase piece though.

I don't know what it is, but I personally couldn't (American) rumba to it. Maybe a fast nightclub two-step?

Bolero is slooower (24ish). And it doesn't sound like bolero anyhow. In a 19-dance context, bolero is rhythmically closer to int rumba than am rumba.

Its not impossible to do an intl. rumba to it but you won't see this song at any comp. Don't know about NC2S. It seems like a painfully slow NC2S (don''t quote me on it though because I don't NC2S too much so I maybe I just don't know a lot about that dance).
