Russian/European proficiency levels

Someone just joined our team who was a C-class latin dancer in Russia. What would that be in terms of bronze, silver, etc.? She needs to know for partner-finding purposes (and hopefully, for competitions!)

We have next clases: H-E-D-C-B-A-S-M
M is the higher. H=hobby.
In C class couples dance 5 dances already, but the don't dance poses, men's haven't tale-coats. Sure, they are not Hobby, but they don't seem good on competitions of Aduls or Youth, It's ONLY first round of IDSF competitions, if somebody try to take part in it.

That's roughly Novice-prechamp in USA Dance, and "open" in collegiate. IMHO, B class is a solid prechamp in USA Dance, and fairly descent "champ" or "open" in collegiate. Of course, it also depends on the collegiate region. What region/school is this for?

My understanding is that for adults, roughly: E = bronze/silver, D = silver/gold, C = gold/novice, B = novice/prechamp, A = prechamp/champ.

I think you are about correct.. We are being described by people from Russia as an OK A class couple (not top of A).. so that would agree with your idea... I've been so confused about the European classes, finally getting a little better idea

It's for Princeton. I think the level of competitions down here is slightly lower than in Boston? But it sounds like she should definitely be doing gold.
