Like the one on Dancers, if you were to create a Hall of Fame, which musician, from any style/branch of salsa/mambo  would you choose and why?

Again, in no particular order, I'll name those I remember now who moved my soul and my body and made me love Salsa:

Frankie Ruiz
Lalo Rodriguez
Ray Ruiz
Pete El Conde Rodriguez
El Gran Combo
Celia Cruz
Andy Montanez
Buena Vista Social Club
Ray de la Paz
Eddie Palmieri
Willie Colon
Anthony Cruz
Tito Nieves
Victor Manuelle
Fruko Y sus Tesos
Gilberto Santa Rosa
Hector Lavoe
Ruben Blades
Mark Anthony
Grupo Gale
La Sonora Carruseles
Los Adolescentes
Grupo Niche
Justo Betancourt
Jose Alberto El Canario
Tito Rojas
Tony Vega
Paquito Guzman
Puerto Rican Power
Willie Rosario
Yuri Buenaventura
Cheo Feliciano

And I left out many... They make me love this music and this culture which is not mine by birth, but has become mine by heart... Salsa is now my life and I don't regret it a bit! And this is partly thanks to them! To their songs and the passion they ooze...

Sorry if I named too many... but I love them all... and if you ask me, I can dig up some more names... these are the first that come to my mind!

I wonder if I would be stoned if I nominated Orquesta la Palabra, the band that gave us the song we so love to hate, Lady? ( Shock! Horror! Gasp! Has MM gone mad!?)

I don't care, I love their Breakthrough album, and there's nothing wrong with Lady anyway other than that it's in English.
