Not all comopetitions. Unless there is clearly anobolic present in the bloodstream, nobody can argue that the man or woman who just sprinted themselves into another timezone did not deserve that new world record and first place medal. Dancing iS an artform first then a competiton second - never a sport - and there, my friend, is the rub.

Of course, I was thinking more of dance and other art forms like musical performances. Oops, yep, I think it would be hard to argue that suchabody didn't cross the line first :oops:

Yes...and at only 17 too (that age) when everything and everybody around impresses upon you. Apparently, she's taking the whole thing in her stride - bless her.
Speaking of comps: STRICTLY'S BACK IN 2 WEEKS...YAY. :banana:

I sometimes think competitions are just an excuse for all of us to gossip, develop massively-complex conspiracy theories, and spend time bitching about various obscure aspects of the judging.

The problem, of course, with dance is that judging a performance is quite tricky. You don't need a judge for athletics tournaments - it's pretty damn obvious who the winner is.
 
I haven't seen a good (clear, unobstructed) video of the new Champions (Hiroshi and Kioto Yamao) yet, but I have seen video of last years Champions (Daniel Nacucchio and Cristina Sosa), and IMO they are about as good as anyone I've seen in a while at the Villa Urquiza/Salon style of dancing. As such, I'd have a little trouble believing "the fix was in" on them winning it.
