Seen Any Good Movies Lately?

SCOTT PILGRIM!!! It was everything I'd hoped it would be. I think I liked the move ending better than the comic ending too.
I think Book 5 hadn't come out yet when the movie was being made so there's definitely a departure point in the film. I love how certain elements were remixed for the film as it made for a great story. I liked the movie's ending as well.

Saw Expendables yesterday. Both awesome and lame at the same time. Awesome action, awesome stars, lame plot, lame dialog.
My thoughts exactly. Jet Li's character, I think, had the worst lines. Thought the subplot with Jason Statham's character was okay but overall not needed for the film to work. Other than that, a pretty darn enjoyable action adventure.

:D

Did you see the Jimmy Kimmel clip with Dolph, Terry Crews and Randy Couture? Definitely worth seeing if you're a Dolph fan. :D

Finally saw Avatar: Special Edition 3D on Friday night and it was exactly what I expected. Amazing, 3D images bringing Pandora to life and a script that is basically Dances with Wolves/Pocahontas or The New World in space but with a weaker script. The main character is something of an idiot but everyone else in the film is pretty likable. I'm glad I saw this in 3D as seeing it in 2D would've been a disappointment.

I'm amazed at what James Cameron did. I'm not sold on 3D as regular movie experience concept as the glasses are uncomfortable to wear after 2 hours but am hopeful that something can be done about that in the future.

Yes. According to IMDB, it was released in April.

Tina Fey and Steve Carrell have great comedic chemistry, IMO. Lotsa fun.

Gran Torino.

For the record, I've been in love with Clint Eastwood for at least 20 years. Just putting it out there.

The fact that he's almost as old as my Dad (pretty dang old) and has a gravelly voice matter not at all. It's just love, plain and simple.

And the fact that he's a fearless hero doesn't hurt a bit. :-)

Salt?

You know what. Ever since you posted that yesterday, I was thinking of Milk, the movie where Sean Penn plays the gay politician.

I can't remember what Salt was supposed to be about. *head thwack* Must be getting old.

And oh dear Lord. Yesterday, I saw one from the, "Why do I pay for premium cable again?" Hall of Shame.

The Time Traveler's Wife. The trailers looked like it could go either way. This one definitely went the other way. Blech!
