I'm finding sometimes I like dancing to energetic bouncy funky funky upbeat songs, and other times, I really like mellow more romantic and sensual songs.
Lately though, I find that I love dancing in a more sensually way. I love smaller movements that kinda involve the whole of me. Does that make sense? I know it won't be everyone's cup of tea, but there can be so much beauty and feeling in just a single turn, either for him or for her. Sometimes, I have no need to make such big movements, with lots of spins n stuff. I like the subtleties of salsa ... for now ...

But to be serious... I do know exactly how you feel about dynamics. The reason I mention tango is because some songs call for bouncy and upbeat while others call for the more slow and sensual. The "next level" of tango that I've found few at dance socials have reached is the ability to go beyond the skillfull steps and dance the music. One thing I absolutely love about my partner is he knows how to capture these feelings with an economy of movement. You say, "slow and sensual" to many leads and they think, "I've got to do lots of fancy slow dips!"
And still on a serious note, "I love smaller movements that kinda involve the whole of me" is sooooooo tango.![]()
fast or slow, new or old, mellow or upbeat if it catches me right where my heart engorges, I'm game.
