Enquiring minds would like to know :D how many congresses, festivals or weekenders have you shared your accomodation/room with friends - in separate beds/sofas!

Have you ever done it? Would you do it again?

I am curious about numbers, not specifics, unless you want to share

In case you need reminding or suggestions of what may or may not have been held already

Annual Salsa Congresses & Events

For other polls in this "series", I have created a Salsa Polls index :D

I said "one" becasue this is in the salsa forum... if you included ballroom events I've been to, well, let's just say I lost count...

I went for two, but I should qualify this...

I've so far been to two weekenders, and both times I shared accommodation with someone I didn't know, so the people I shared with weren't friends at the beginning of the weekends. They were by the end :D. The first room share was arranged by the organiser of the event and the second by a man I know who acted as my group leader. I was very happy with the roomie I got both times, and I will probably be sharing a room with a stranger again at the Christmas weekender. I think it's a great way to make new friends, provided you don't have major compatibility issues like smoking/not smoking.

Countless times as I include my travels abroad. I make sure in advance that, as MacMoto stated above, I am compatible with the person(s) sharing a room with(and vice-versa of course!). Absolutely no smokers or heavy snorers. I will pay the extra surcharge to have my own room if it means getting a good night's sleep and having a smoke-free environment. 8)

I have the use os hosting my friends (and sometimes people I fancy for whatever reason, but have yet to develop the relationship into a tue friendship) at home whenever they come to town. The reverse is also true. I get a home to stay in almost everytime I travel.

If people from out of town are coming to visit, and I only profit from it during danc venues, we'll hardly have time to speak. After all we're there to dance for the most part.

By welcoming them into my home, we get lots of more time to talk, find out what's new...

And true, it is chaper! Which makes it easyer to travel arround.

I have not yet participated in a Congress, but I voted "all the time" as this is what I'd do (provided MM's and Coco's requirements are met as well...)
