Shoe suggestions

I am looking to at some point buy some new shoes to use for smooth (and only smooth). Does anyone have any suggestions as to what brand. I usually buy supadance smooth shoes with a contour 2.5in heel. Does anyone think that having standard shoes is preferable over smooth shoes? I watch a lot of competitions and see a lot of people who do only smooth who seem to prefer to wear standard shoes of smooth styled shoes.

I don't know the number of the shoe I wear for smooth...I used to wear court shoes only but find that now my beaten up bunyioned feet dance better in a smooth shoe with a wide strappy front...it is a supadance model with a 2 1/2 contour....

It might be the same one I currently use. I like it and it is comfortable, but I don't know if maybe people find dancing in standard shoes more supportive for smooth or if smooth shoes are truly the best (well considering that is what they ae made for, I would hope they are the best, but i'm curious if other people find standard shoes more comfortable over smooth).

standard shoes are more supportive...imo, but they aren't more comfortable...and, once you are at an open level, ime, it is important to be able to have more flexibility in the shoe over the support...at least for smooth...and quite honestly, I prefer to now wear the smooth shoe for standard because, while I prefer the look of the standard court shoe, my feet no longer abide it very well

Standard shoes = more support less comfort
Smooth shoes = more flexibility more comfort less support.
I run a dance shoe store and most of my standard customers wear standard and my smooth customers wear smooth.
If you have bunion issues buy a shoe that gives enough toe width for comfort. Most wide shoes are wide towards the middle as well and may not work. You may try 1531 Supadance if you want a smooth shoe with extra front room but it runs pretty big so go down 3 sizes from your American size.
