Shoes like these?

I'm looking for a pair of crossover shoes that I can use for ballroom practice as well as for international folk dance, and I was wondering if anyone here had any recommendations.

I like the look of a pair of "Black Leatherette Upper Dance Shoes" at Light in the Box, but the product reviews are poor and I'm not sure of the quality of Light in the Box shoes generally. The forum won't let me post a link, since I'm a new member, but here's a photo:

What I like about them is the low heel and the crossed elastics that secure them to the foot. They look reasonably attractive but practical.

Does anyone know of similar shoes from other manufacturers? Or can anyone recommend another shoe that would be good for practicing a variety of dance styles?

I don't recommend light in the box, not good quality...take care of your feet! Veryfineshoes.com makes affordable, average quality shoes. It all depends on how much you want to spend. But my advice is don't skimp on your feet!!!

Aren't those called Pedinis? Capezio makes some. Ballet teachers wear them. Awesome shoes I haven't gotten around to collecting yet.

lightinthebox is GREAT for those random one-off things where you need a cheap pair of shoes to specifically match something, but their quality and sizing is far too inconsistent to use in earnest. I did luck up and spend ten bucks on a pair of their shoes and they're still going, but I haven't danced as much this year, so that's part of it.

I have a pair of Pedinis, and I've used them on occasions when my dogs were barking or some other emergency arose, but they're not supportive enough for extensive use.

Side note - Lightinthebox made me an excellent bridesmaid dress. I was skeptical about the quality, but it turned out really well, had a surprising amount of structure, and was way cheaper than most dresses available in the U.S.
