Hey folks, first post here, but I have been stalking a while haha. I have a question concerning my prom tomorrow. (No I'm not asking how to dance. I have seen that thread and it actually helped my poor dance skills a bit)

Well, tomorrow I'm am going to my senior prom with my date who is rather short. I am a male 6'1 and my date is about 5'2-5'3. I have not danced a lot, but am I going to have to do something different with my hands, body position for either slow dancing or faster/grind type dances. It's probably a silly question, but I';m wondering id I have to hunch down or something haha.

Thanks for the help!

I wouldn't worry about having to hunch down or do anything special. Chances are your date will have on some killer heels to add some height. It's your senior prom. Just have fun.

I'm 5'10" and my partner is 5'0". I don't have any problems with the height difference. Have fun, don't worrry about it, you shouldn't need to do anything significant to deal with the height issue. (and as DanceAngel said she will probably have some killer heels on, but even if she doesn't or she takes them off you should still be fine)

Don't worry about it, she'll love it no matter what you do.
Totally different story if the roles were reversed..........

it's too late for the prom, but in general, overcompensating for a difference in height usually makes it worse, especially if you compromise your own posture. i tend to avoid dancing blues with really short women for that reason.
