Silver steps in American waltz for a showcase

I am looking for a few easy yet flashy steps for a showcase routine. I was thinking of progressive twinkles in shadow position. Any other suggestions?

Open spirals, or whatever your studio calls them. Do a twinkle to promenade, but release the lady's right hand with your left hand, so that you're in a very open promenade position almost side by side. Then you can do small twinkles, moving the lady across to your left in the next bar, then back to the right, etc., or you can dance across to the lady's right on the next bar, then have her dance across to your right, etc.

Anything in shadow position can be deceptively difficult to do well, just to warn you. Progressive twinkles/spirals/whatever you call them can be very lovely in double-hand-hold position.

Anything with turns by the follow add that little bit extra to a step. For instance, instead of an open left turn, do it with a lady's underarm turn.

Developes are beautiful, done well. Done badly are remiscent of a dog peeing on a fire hydrant.

Presumably, Billman will not be the one dancing the developpes. I would hope his pro had an exquisitely refined peeing position. ;)

Oh, whoops :shy: For some reason I thought this was an Am/Am performance. But if it's with his Pro, why does he need input about Silver Smooth steps? o_O

This will be Am/Am performance! lol. My fiance and I! We are thinking this might also be part of our wedding dance also. :)

you could also do a ""developpe" line without actually doing the kicking part. I used to do this in my bronze routines and it still gives a nice line.
What we did was go to a wide handhold from progressive twinkles and then set up the developpe, but instead of actually kicking up, I would just extend backwards, almost like a subtle contracheck action.

I love waterfalls. Where its just progressive twinkles in a handshake hold, switching hands when switching sides. Also for the develope line you can do it instead of a two hand hold, do it as an around the waist hold.
