So, this last strategy basically starts you at the point you would be had you started with the feather and reverse, only now you're two measures ahead of the crowd, instead of fighting for a starting position.

Not bad!

At one point my amateur partner & my waltz routine started with a back whisk into the corner followed by a weave from promenade going down the long wall. We got rid of that one, though, because my partner thought that psychologically we were "retreating" at the start (back whisk) and he wanted us to be more aggressive. Again, this was a syllabus routine (Gold). We now start with the usual half natural, but I think we need to find another start point or two in case we need options.

New updates on the Slow Foxtrot madness! Spent all of today's school break zigzagging in a not so empty classroom. My classmates either paid no attention or thought I was barking mad. Thank the heavens I wasn't singing Peggy Lee's "Fever" out loud (though I WAS singing it in my head :P ).
Teacher says I am crazy to like Foxtrot. No beginner likes it, or Waltz (which I also lurve) :D

Slow Foxtrot is divine. It's the reason I get up in the morning. It's why I go to the gym and practice, why I work on strength, balance and stretch in my workouts. It's the longest playlist on my iPod. It's the dance I wait for. My pulse beats in smooth, sweet, swingy, slow, 4/4 time.

<comes up for air>

So I guess you could say I'd vote "love it."

Hate, hate, HATE it. It is very pretty to watch people who are EXCELLENT at it, but I would rather have a root canal than do it.

I prefer waltz...I don't even really care for most FT music....now, as for the feel of intl. FT...I adore the feel when it is going well...but I loathe how difficult it is and how it feels when it is difficult.....it depends upon where I am in the process
