snap, crackle, pop, what is currently creaky/sore?

Geeze, I have never had as many physical aches and pains as I do now. The knee is still healing, the foot is still healing, I pulled something in my hip, and my Achilles tendon is scaring me right now. The storm door dropped on the back of my ankle, and ever since then I get a burning when I drop my heel below my toes. Finally, the short term pain in my upper arm from a shingles shot is awful. I am a mess.:beye::(

This is so unlike me. Lessons are interesting right now to say the least.

My feet I have overdone the practicing this week in my competition shoes and my feet are sore to the point i sprayed deep freeze on my socks actually helped

Everyone must be feeling good since there haven't been any posts here since October!
Well, not me I'm afraid.
Left knee has has some tenderness on the bottom outside of my kneecap. I even had a doctor check it out when I thought I had a hernia. That, I'm convinced was a strained groin muscle. The doc didn't find anything definitive with the knee, but after Saturday night I did my own research and it's my lateral collateral ligament. I had to turn down a bunch of dance requests yesterday when I decided I wanted to have a beer and listen to some music. THAT got me into learning more than I needed to know about problems other dancers there have had!
Looks like I need some time off not only from dancing energetically like I do, but "rucking" (hiking with weight in a "rucksack"), making my way through downed trees and branches to attack invasive plants, and even walking around the neighborhood to get in my exercise. (basically avoiding any lateral movement on that side)
And, the 23rd is one of my favorite partner's birthday and I was looking forward to dancing with her then. Recovery time for my injury is something like three to four weeks. Rats. But at least I have accepted that I need to take it easy.

Oh my hips are cracking. Doesn’t help that my drive is a little less than an hour. And I never realized how tight my neck was until I started dancing.

I’d wrenched my entire left side a couple of weeks ago when I tripped on a small stair that I hadn’t seen. The pain settled mainly in my left hip/lower back area, but it had also been shooting around the whole pelvic area and into my quads. Sleep was difficult, and it was still not much better yesterday. My work colleagues got tired of listening to me moaning about it. So, I took off work in the afternoon and went to an Ortho/Spine Clinic. Happily the x-ray showed no misalignment of anything. But the doc said that I have acute muscle inflammation and swelling. He ordered a course of low-dose steroids, a heavy-duty muscle relaxant, and no exercise for one week (not even walking, he said). Sigh.

So I skipped dance practice yesterday, and cancelled my lessons for tomorrow. But the "no exercise" is difficult - the “not-even-walking” part is actually impractical (and in the past, walking actually seemed to help). On the other hand, with the meds, I’m practically comatose anyway……

Hope you heal quickly. Maybe he meant "no long power walks" not no short gentle walks that make you feel good to be moving a bit??

My right hip flexor gets angry with me fairly often when I have too much dancing fun after working really long hours/weeks at the computer.

My doctor thinks it's from Rhythm and all of my Rumba walks practice without proper warm-up. She even demonstrated the rumba walk movement for me! (Yes, my doctor is that awesome and she dances Salsa too!)

I was prescribed a topical medication to reduce the swelling and given a long list of exercises.

So, I've been putting way more emphasis into my warm-ups and doing the exercises for a few months now with minimal relief. The best I feel is when I reduce my time at the keyboard, walk, dance and workout.

So, the only possible solution now is to retire 30yrs early (with my underwhelming retirement savings) and just dance, right?

Have you seen a physiotherapist? They are my go-to resources for body aches and pains.
