So You Think You Can Dance Australia

Beto, how can I go about downloading episodes? I tried downloading Azureus but I couldn't find the episodes within it to download.

I then downloaded the file from that link you posted earlier but it wouldn't play in Azureus.

Any advice? I'd love to watch the episodes. You can PM me if you want to keep from high-jacking the thread.

Thanks!

Okay I think I see what's going on. I'll PM you.

Not sure if this is current schedule or just for the auditions but episode 3 was yesterday and so far they've aired episodes on Friday, Monday and yesterday.

Regardless of the scheduling, you know I'll be d/l'ing and watching the episodes as soon as they're posted. Gotta love the internet. :D

Just watched the first two episodes. :) You can tell that both because of a smaller population base and since it's a first season show, the talent pool isn't as populous or deep as the most recent US season. (e.g. I think I'd like the bottom 100 of season 3's top 200 more than Aus's bottom 50 of their top 100). But good dancers are still good dancers, and I bet the top 20 will be quite talented.

Interesting that poverty kept on coming up as a theme for a lot of the dancers. It's not something that you heard much about in the US version. Also nice to see local culture/dances making an appearance too.

Watching episode 3 - wow, the Sydney dancers are very very good! Much higher talent & training levels than the other cities.

Watched Episode 1 last night and really liked it. Hope to make it through episode 2 this weekend and then on to 3 if time allows.

I guess episode 4 was on last night?

I think you'll like episode 3. I think it was my fav so far.

Yes Episode 4 was on last night/early Sunday and actually got posted to the torrents sometime last night. Have downloaded it but don't know when I'll have time to watch.

Still, having this to see is SO MUCH BETTER than Dance War (which, as of tonight, I've finally given up on. I haven't even watched last week's which I recorded). :D

Either they need to hire better choreographers (for SYTYCD-Aus), or this shows how world class the American SYTYCD choreographers are. The routines aren't nearly as interesting, although they have as much techniques, tricks, lifts, etc as the US version.

Are you watching the top 20 stuff already? I got through the Sydney auditions last night while on the flight back from Las Vegas and watched part 1 of the Top 100 last night before bedtime (down to 60 dancers from 100).

Sabra and Kameron are supposed to be in Australia next month and so they might appear on the show. Same for choreographer Dan Karaty.

Yes, I caught all of the Sunday night show, and the highlights of the results show from that Blogging SYTYCD website.

Overall the routines weren't particularly moving. Maybe it was the music? It'll be nice if Sabra, Kameron, and Dan make guest appearances.

I did like the opening Group Routine of the Monday results show. It was really long, too!

Me too. I looooooooove the opening number...!!! We watched it a couple of times... amazing!!!

You can tell that ....because of a smaller population base and since it's a first season show, the talent pool isn't as populous or deep as the most recent US season....

Absolutely agreed, TJ.

I felt that the dancers were a lot less mature & confident (personality-wise, not dance-wise).

This quote from the artical (which TJ had posted earlier) sums it up really well:

".....The Americans are very forceful and really love themselves, and good or bad they will try and make you believe that you love them. Australians hold back. They're not sure if they're good enough as dancers and they're very sensitive......."

IMHO, this is not a great trait, especially for any performance artists who are trying to build a career.

What did you all think about the "salsa" (with NO salsa music  ) number......?? I'd expect more from Oliver.....
