Social Dancing Wear

As social dancing is my focus (and being the best, most entertaining social dancer I can be), I'm always on the look-out for fun stuff to wear.

Opinions please...I found this Chinese import and I think it would be a lot of fun on the social floor.

My question for leaders, fun to play with or terrifying entanglement potential?

I'd also like to hear from the ladies on the most fun things to wear social dancing. Pictures please. :)

Probably terrifying entanglement potential, but so cute!

I'm always trying to find a balance between long and sorta dull, and too short it will expose my butt when I turn. Knee-length and calf length dresses are just not flattering...

I've been looking recently at skater dresses...they're a little longer than mini dresses, and super super cute

Regarding the OP's dress...I can see alot of potential to have the leader's hand slip inside the strands and become entangled. I prefer a dress with a more solid back.

I love the purple! Lioness where did you find those photos? (and I concur, too short = uncomfortable view of my shorts...too long and I'm falling over it, too calf length = awkward, especially with my soccer calves).

I do love the fringe, but good to get a leader's perspective. Thanks all!

I found them on a site called boohoo...they do some really neat fashion and I dunno about the US, but they've got free postage to AUS and pretty much always have coupons going. I actually bought the purple dress to wear at the next social/comp combined, so we'll see how it goes!

I almost always wear black because usually that is all I can find, but I do try to make the tops interesting, like tops with cut-outs or halters or other interesting necklines/back-lines.

I've gotten fabulous things in the junior section, places like WhiteHouseBlackMarket, and not-upscale stores in not-upscale neighborhoods. My skirts are usually from dancewear manufacturers but the tops are off the rack (I can't wear non-manmade fabrics for more than a few minutes without dripping sweat). I just keep an eye out whenever I'm shopping for things that are dance-worthy. Seriously, that is usually my train of thought- how would that look dancing? :)

doh! Obviously I meant "non-natural" or "manmade" fabrics. Cotton does not, in fact, make me sweat.
