ok i need your guys help on this please!!!

have any of you guys heard the song

A Lovely Day

if so i would like to know who sings it :)

Depends on which version

Did you hear the song in salsa class/social? If so, chances are it is the Rudy B* version which has a counting/timing version also, with Robert Charlamagne's voice doing the counting. Robert is a London based salsa teacher with THE voice (he could almost pass for Barry White  ) :D

* Don't ask me who Rudy B is

Yeah, Robert used that under a very inspiring workshop.
Great for salsa dance, but it seems to miss some of the drum
patterns to be really salsa.
As I remember, Robert was mixing the band in the studio.

 I prefer Orchestra Palabra's Lady

I have experienced Lovely Day and sadly, it didn't light my fires :? Maybe if Robert had sung it

Another big, black guy with a voice -- Rudy B sang two versions of Lovely Day at the Latin Splash after party (no counting by Robert, but accompanied by four lovely dancers). 8)

I got the CD at a Rohan Brown workshop as part of a 2 CD set (RnB Salsa + Rudy B's Lovely Day). I believe you can buy the set from w w w.salsafever.co.uk.

Danoo, repeat after me please: "When in doubt, Google!"

Like MacMoto, I was sure that Salsafever had/has it. So, I went to Google, entered: "rudy B" "salsafever" and it came back with the ordering page. Scroll down till you get to the CDs section and then Rudy B is the top one

Is there more than one song, in english (I must add  ) that is being used in salsa that has the lyrics "Lovely Day"

I can google for the lyrics of "Lovely Day" but I don't think that is going to prove that it is the Rudy B version :? Can you not ask at your teacher for confirmation?

I just Googled "Lovely Day" and "Rudy B" and it came back with five results, one of which looks abit suspect but, I didn't investigate it.

Whoa.... thanks Danoo!

Actually it's interesting. It sounds like a salsa/mambo, but it has the tempo for a ballroom samba!!!

i only know salsa/mambo but i love the song :D

That's okay... we'll give you the rest of your life to take up other dances. ;) I definitely like this piece. I'll have to break a moratorium on buying albums and get this for my next salsa-dance event. (Okay, my moratorium has lasted about as long as the average length of time a Dance-Forum member has used Google.)

(I have wanted to get more WCS/salsa crossover songs, and this is a very cool candidate. Interesting hip-hop beat that works with west coast swing...)
