Hello!!

i have been dancing sinse the 6th grade and im now in the 8th grade. I have been having trouble getting my splits down pat. I would really like to get all three splits just about perfect so that i can get my kick higher:). A lot of the girls at my dance studio have been dancing for a long time and most of them have really good splits. Do i just have to keep practicing and it will slowly get better? is there a faster way to get them to go lower?

Thanks!! i appreciate it!!

There's really no fast way to get the results you want. Bear in mind, not everyone's body is able to actually *do* splits. I'd make sure I was properly warmed up and stretch well before working on them. This will reduce your chances of *permanent* injury.

Have those other girls been dancing a lot longer than you? That might give you an idea of the time it will take to develop splits. As dancingmommy said, there isn't really a way to force or speed up the process.

The one thing you can do is to stretch and work on your flexibility every single day if you are not doing that already. Just make sure you're warmed up by dancing or moving around for a few minutes first.

Hey, Im a Junior in highschool and dance with a lot of girls that have been doing it forever too. I like to do my homework in the splits, two birds with one stone right?
I also lie on my bed with my legs in the splits against the wall (:
Just stretch and stay consistent and your splits should improve!
