Question on power mesh: do we think it has sufficient body to stand alone as the skirt of a latin costume, or should I back it with nude swimsuit lining?

My concerns are 1) sturdiness, and 2) body / movement. There will be some stoning on the skirt: probably a border of some kind and a scatter of small stones everywhere else.

I would back it, the nude fabric comes in different weights. As does the strength of power mesh.
As for me? Here's a goodie, I really hate with a passion the freaking nylon zipper in the back of my standard dress. anyone have suggestions on zippers?

I had a zipper on back of one of my smooth dresses- I hated it too. I was always worried it would get stuck and not zip up every time I got ready

Hmmm, I am seriously considering just scooping a low crescent out of my standard dress back, to remove the zipper, and installing nude stretch power mesh covering that with matching lace decor over the mesh,,, hmm hmm. A trip to the downtown fabric, garment district is percolating.

need ideas: I altered a standard dress that was too long, and now I have 3 strips of 3" mostly bias cut fabric from the bottom (2 organza, 1 satin) roughly 7m each in length. I'd like to use them for something. I gathered one into a ruffle to see what I thought - the gold organza looks nice against black..... latin skirt? Ideas anyone?

seeking float advice!!! i'm making a full float option for a standard gown - it currently has drapey floaty pieces on gauntlets, which is ok, but i prefer full symmetrical floats. ok...symmetrical is the question.... i have another smooth/standard convertible gown made by a very well known designer, where the floats attach in the lower center of the back of the dress. the right float is slightly longer than the left float, so that in frame they hang perfectly even from the floor, allowing for the flexed left arm. for those with gowns with full floats and/or those who have made floats, is this a common/recommended design method? do you have right/left floats like this, or duplicates, that thus have a slightly different drape length in frame?
