And Steve - The STE was supposed to reopen in Vegas this year at the opening of the ST movie. In a different location, though.

Oh my gosh, you just gave me hope, YAY! I never got to see the original one in Vegas and was completely depressed about it hope this still happens! Though I'm actually hoping that the new movie Star Trek will inspire another TV series, I miss those...

then there is the ferengi rules of acquiring a dance partner

1. Flash lots of latinum around
2. If the woman you want to dance with turns you down, dance with her best friend and her worst rival. Then ask her again.
3. Nobble, bribe delay or otherwise incapicitate any partner favoured by the woman in question.
4. Better than latinum is a small suitcase of cifs.
5. Always finish a tanda unless a better or prettier dancer becomes available.
6. Once you're dancing with her dont let her go, especially if she's a good dancer as your estimation in the eyes of other dancers is bound to go up.
7. If all else fails "make her an offer she cant refuse'
8. Never trust a man in a better suit than you.

Chakotay would be a blues/souls dancer, who'd believe his spirit guides inspires his improvisation.
Tom would be a fun-loving Lindy hopper who'd always be throwing himself and his follower into aerials.
The Doctor would start to tango but always get distracted and break into an aria.
B'Elanna would dance the tango but usually lose her temper and storm off the dance floor after punching the leader for making too many wrong moves and feeling her up.
Harry would rather sit on the sidelines playing clarinet in the big band at the Lindy Hop dance events that Tom goes to.
Neelix would be the caterer at all the dance events.

And who would be the DJ when needed, Q of course!
