States of Undress During Dance Performance

So it can be crowd pleasing, shocking, or just too much when couple decide to where less clothes in order to get the attention of the audience. I don't believe I had ever seen standard danced with the man wearing no shirt as in this video

And I'm sure there are plenty of other videos that would rival this one. What are your thoughts on watching such performances, or better yet, being part of them?

you should have seen the female ( and some male) audience reaction at ohio when andrei begunov ripped off his shirt during a show dance with anna to "you give love a bad name" it was a foxtrot/tango but i bet virtually none of the women in the audience remember that.

seriously channing tatum couldn't have collected more dollars that nite.

the glazed look on my pros and wife eyes was priceless

Reaction#1: ewww sweaty and stinky
Reaction #2: wow, look at the way his body's working as he manipulates her, that was really interesting
Reaction#3: just imagine getting the tanner stains out of that gown

I thought this one was pleasant to watch. I don't always think that. The lighting (when the video wasn't washed out) plus his musculature made it work for me. Also, watching the curves of his spine (indicating the relationship of his rib cage to his hips) without a tail suit in the way is pretty educational.

Do I like to see it as a regular schtick? not really...

Would I be a part of such a performance? If I looked and danced like that, sure...

I think because he started without his shirt, so you get over the initial "ooh" and then just watch his muscles working... Which was awesome. I think the stripping off the shirt or opening the shirt mid routine feels a little gimmicky.

Ugh I love this show case. End of story...

I think it only works in particular situations. And this is one of them.

Reminds me of a scene from the movie "Galaxy Quest," a satirical comedy that often mocked the original Star Trek, where Rickman comments jealously about his captain, "Always looking for an opportunity to take your shirt off."

We ladies are half naked half the time, why not a little balance? What's the reasoning for a lady's dress having a totally open back? You could apply the same reasoning to him not wearing a shirt.

Well, open backs aren't mandatory. Obviously, though, WOMEN like them and sleeveless, as try finding dance dresses without them! I don't feel obligated to wear an open back to show skin, I just have limited choices available.

And I guess looking's not bad but between sweat and tanner, ick.

Eh if he really wanted to, he could just lie out in the sun. He is Italian after all and would be able to tan pretty easily.
