GRRR . just need to vent and share frustration.. last night around midnight somethign in my kitchen broke, I did clean it but not well enough as I missed one rather BIG piece of glass. Now, I should not have been walking barefoot after that but I did.. I stepped on a large piece of glass .. :( grrr

my cut is almost 2 inches long and looks quite deep.. Have been avoiding stepping on it the whole day hoping it will be ok by tomorrow as we have a lesson.. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

:(

Wow...sorry to hear that Katarzyna! I hope it's not so bad you have to stay off the floor!!! If you're not going to go the stitches route be sure to keep it covered!!!

I am not doign stitches, i hope it will heal itself fast ... by tomorrow 6pm precisely... grrr cannot believe it happened, and cannot blame anyone for it but myself :(

Tetanus. Booster. If you haven't had one in the last ten years, now is the time. In fact get one anyway. Can't hurt.

Ow. If it makes you feel better, I stepped on a tack the morning of my first ice dance test. It ended up being okay.

Good call DOI. Most people get one around 4/5 (before entering kindergarten) and then again around 14 (before entering high school), at least around here. THen most adults don't keep up on it, but you're supposed to get a booster every ten years or so, if memory serves.

I'm actually due for one if I didn't get one from army l;ast year. Can't remember, but I"d probably get one now if something like this happened. Well, would tell myself I should, but then wouldn't. I'm in the group that doesn't keep up on them. :)

:( Kat

Where is the cut? If you are going to dance on it and its possible you might try binding the foot so that the cut can not open up during the practice. This may be a bit late but if you bind immediately after a cut sometimes you can prevent scar formation and get rapid 'researling'. If it is really bad don't save a lesson for weeks of suffering - get a doctor to see it OK?

The most important thing now is to prevent infection. I swear by polysporine ointment. My impression is that it make things heal faster too.

<hugs>
